Last week, the venerable Lynda Barry visited us in Vermont. She held a two day writing workshop and it was great. Besides all of the hilarious anecdotes and Wisconsin love, Lynda had some great ideas to help with the writing process. I'd tell you everything but then I'd have to kill you. Instead, here are some doodles, not to be confused with snickerdoodles or Cheez Doodles, both of which are much more delicious than what I'm offering.
Last weekend I went to MoCCA Fest, a small press expo at the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in New York City. It was super fun to see all the comics and get out of dodge for awhile. I met the guy from Wondermark, talked to some Swedish cartoonists, and bought myself a robot painting. Huzzah!
I also noticed that I've lost the ability to navigate busy streets of people. Living in Vermont, population 300, I've not only forgotten how to talk to people, it seems I now can't walk without body slamming every person I pass. I've lost my groove!
Here's a photo from MoCCA of some of the most adorable people I know: Dakota, Lisa and Andy. Also Jan looking creepy from behind.
